Police in Utah have released more images of a person of interest in the killing of Charlie Kirk, a conservative American activist and ally of United States President Donald Trump. Kirk was speaking at a debate at Utah Valley University when authorities say a shooter fired a single round from a rooftop, fatally striking him in the neck in an apparent targeted assassination. The gunman is still on the loose more than a day after the shooting. The FBI is offering a $1 million reward for any information that helps them catch the person or people responsible..
There was initial confusion over the manhunt for Kirk’s killer, with FBI director Kash Patel posting the “subject” had been detained, before taking that back an hour later. US President Trump, who blamed Kirk’s killing on members of the “radical left” and threatened punitive measures against political rivals, has called on his supporters to remain nonviolent.
