Gunpowder Factory Blast in Ryazan Kills 25; Criminal Probe Launched

The death toll from a gunpowder explosion at a factory in the Russian city of Ryazan has increased to 25. The city’s Governor said that a fire broke out in a production workshop at an enterprise in the Shilovsky district on Friday. The Russian Investigative Committee said that a criminal probe had been initiated into the blast on suspicion of violations of the industrial safety code.
