Major Asian stock markets climbed today, following softer US inflation data for the month of July. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 2.29 per cent, Japan’s Nikkei 225 added 1.29 per cent, Singapore’s Straits Times increased 1.22 per cent, South Korea’s Kospi closed 1.07 per cent higher, and China’s Shanghai Composite Index ended the day 0.48 per cent higher from the previous session. Major European indices were trading in green in intra-day trade. Germany’s DAX was 0.77 per cent up, France’s CAC 40 was 0.51 per cent higher, while London’s FTSE 100 had risen 0.19 per cent, when reports last came in.
