Superstar Rajinikanth gifts thoughtful packets to 350 crew members after a night shoot in Thailand for Coolie. Nagarjuna shares the heartwarming story, as excitement grows for the August 14 release featuring a star-studded cast and record-breaking expectations.

Superstar Rajinikanth, known for his humility and generosity off-screen, has once again won hearts — this time with a heartwarming gesture towards the crew of his upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, who plays a villain for the first time in his illustrious career in the film, recently shared an emotional behind-the-scenes anecdote that has now gone viral across social media platforms.

In a recently surfaced video, Nagarjuna spoke about his experience working alongside Rajinikanth during a grueling 17-day night shoot for an intense action sequence in Thailand. The veteran actor recounted the hard work and dedication of over 350 members on set, highlighting the camaraderie and unity that kept the team going through challenging conditions.

“Rajini sir has always been a phenomenon — his acting, his style, and his energy are unmatched. But what truly sets him apart is his humility and kindness,” Nagarjuna said. “Even after decades in the industry, he still goes to the side and practices his dialogues, showing the same dedication as a newcomer.”

What particularly moved the crew and now the audience was Rajinikanth’s heartfelt gesture at the end of the shoot. Nagarjuna revealed, “On the final night of the Thailand schedule, Rajini sir called every crew member together. There were over 350 people. He gave each of them a packet and told them to buy something for their children when they return home. That simple act reflects the kind of human being he is.”

While the contents of the packets were not explicitly disclosed, speculation among fans and social media users suggests that the Superstar gifted monetary tokens to the crew — a gesture aimed at acknowledging their efforts and supporting their families. The news has added to the growing anticipation and admiration for Coolie and Rajinikanth himself.

Coolie has already been generating massive buzz across the film industry. It has reportedly become the highest overseas acquisition for a Tamil film to date. Trade analysts are speculating a record-breaking release, with the film expected to reach over 100 countries worldwide upon its theatrical debut on August 14, 2025.

The film’s star-studded ensemble includes major names like Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan, making it one of the most anticipated Indian films of the year. For fans, the most nostalgic moment will be the reunion of Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj after a gap of nearly 38 years — the duo last shared screen space in the 1986 hit Mr. Bharath.

Another highlight of Coolie is the involvement of composer Anirudh Ravichander, who is scoring the music for the fourth consecutive collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The technical team also includes acclaimed cinematographer Girish Gangadharan and editor Philomin Raj, promising top-notch production values.

Despite mounting excitement, director Lokesh Kanagaraj has clarified that Coolie will not be a part of his much-talked-about Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Instead, the film will stand alone, delving into a gripping narrative surrounding gold smuggling.

Marking Rajinikanth’s 171st film, Coolie is poised to be more than just another commercial entertainer. It’s a blend of mass action, emotional drama, and star power — but perhaps what will linger in fans’ minds the most is Rajinikanth’s quiet act of generosity behind the scenes.

As anticipation builds toward its Independence Day weekend release, Coolie is not only shaping up to be a cinematic blockbuster but also a reminder of the humility that true legends carry with them.
