Over ₹45.43 crore will be disbursed to Tripura farmers under PM-KISAN on August 2, announced Minister Ratanlal Nath. PM Modi will release the 20th instalment from Varanasi and interact with farmers. Tripura’s main event will be held at AD Nagar’s State Agriculture Research Station.

Over ₹45.43 crore will be disbursed directly into the bank accounts of registered farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) on August 2. State Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath confirmed the announcement, highlighting the ongoing commitment of both the central and state governments to ensure the financial security and well-being of the agricultural community.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, this disbursement marks the 20th instalment of financial assistance to farmers across the country. In Tripura alone, the amount of ₹45 crore 43 lakh 74 thousand will be transferred to thousands of eligible beneficiaries. The initiative is part of the Union government’s flagship program aimed at supporting small and marginal farmers by providing direct income support of ₹6,000 per year, paid in three equal instalments.

A Nationwide Event

The distribution will take place in a national-level program scheduled for August 2 at 11 AM, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the proceedings from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. He will transfer the funds directly into the beneficiaries’ accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), a transparent and efficient mechanism that eliminates middlemen and reduces delays.

PM Modi is also expected to interact with selected farmers during the event, sharing their experiences and feedback. The interaction will be broadcast live, and farmers across India are encouraged to participate and listen to the Prime Minister’s address from their local Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) or village community halls.

State-Level Participation in Tripura

In Tripura, the main event will be hosted at the State Agriculture Research Station in AD Nagar, Agartala, where Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath will be present to witness the proceedings and listen to the Prime Minister’s speech along with the attending farmers and officials.

Speaking ahead of the event, Minister Nath praised the state’s agricultural sector, attributing its progress to the relentless efforts of Tripura’s farmers. “It is because of their hard work and determination that Tripura is making notable strides in agricultural development,” he said.

Nath emphasized that the state and central governments are working hand-in-hand to uplift farmers and ensure that they benefit from all available government schemes. “This disbursement under PM-KISAN is not just financial support—it is a recognition of the vital role farmers play in the nation’s development,” he added.

A Call to Join the Broadcast

Minister Nath urged all farmers to participate in the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address. “I appeal to all farmers to gather in your respective villages and KVKs and listen to the Prime Minister’s important address. This government stands firmly with the farmers and will continue to do so in the future,” he stated.

The PM-KISAN scheme has been one of the most impactful welfare programs for farmers in recent years. Since its launch in February 2019, it has benefited over 11 crore farmers across India. Tripura has been proactive in registering farmers under the scheme and ensuring timely disbursal of funds.

With this upcoming instalment, the government reiterates its resolve to support the agricultural sector, particularly in times of economic uncertainty and fluctuating crop returns. The use of digital infrastructure to transfer funds directly has been a game-changer, ensuring both transparency and speed.
