However, she acknowledged that ties between the two leaders are not bad. Her remarks followed U.S. President Donald Trump’s renewed interest in engaging Pyongyang. The sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Kim Yo-jong, emphasized that North Korea’s status as a nuclear power is non-negotiable and urged Washington to adopt a new approach. On the other hand, South Korea’s Unification Ministry reiterated its support for renewed U.S.-North Korea dialogue aimed at resolving nuclear tensions.
