The government is working taking various welfare plans for the people of the state. In this regard, efforts are being made to deliver the benefits of different schemes of the central and state government to the people under Prati Ghare Sushason campaign, enunciated Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha after inaugurating Sepahijala District-Level Sushason Mela and Lavarthi Sanmelan today at Bishramganj HS School campus.
The Chief Minister said, Prati Ghare Sushason campaign will continue till December 25. The government is implementing developmental programs and providing government services with fairly. Prior to inauguration of Sepahijala District-Level Sushason Mela and Lavarthi Sanmelan, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly built office building of the Chief Medical Officer of the district in Bishramganj. It is to be noted that this two-storied office building has been built at the cost of 2 crore 58 lakh rupees.
The Chief Minister said, the present government’s ultimate goal is to make the mothers self-dependent. In this regard, the government has been working taking different plans, giving more priority to making women of rural and urban areas self-dependent through Self-Help Groups. He said, earlier there were 39 thousand 82 women in SHGs of the state in the year 2017-18. After the present government took over, the number has increased to 3 lakh 45 thousand women. This shows that change has been brought to the state with respect to rural economic development and making women self-dependent. Earlier there were 4 thousand 153 SHGs in the state in the year 2017-18. Now the number of SHGs has risen to 38 thousand 657 SHGs. In the year 2017-18, the SHGs were provided with revolving fund of 32 crore 67 lakh rupees. After the present government came to power, the SHGs have been provided with revolving fund of 347 crore 61 lakh rupees. Apart from that, many simplifications were done on providing loans to the SHGs.
The Chief Minister said, the state government is working for welfare of people of all sections of the society regardless of any party preference. The government is tirelessly working for the development of the state fighting against Covid-19 pandemic. The Chief Minister interacted with the members of Self-Help Groups through video conferencing. The Chief Minister also handed over bank loan cheques worth 1 crore 39 lakh 7 thousand rupees to 64 SHGs of Sepahijala district in the programme. Apart from that, The Chief Minister handed over a Power Tiller to a farmer.
Jail Minister Ram Prasad Paul in the inaugural programme of Sepahijala District-Level Sushason Mela and Lavarthi Sanmelan said, the present government aims to work for the people. The government is committed towards solving the problems of people of all sections. He said, benefits of government services and schemes are being provided to people through Prati Ghare Sushason campaign. MLA Subhash Chandra Das, MLA Birendra Kishore Debbarma, social activists Gourango Bhoumik and Debabrata Bhattacharjee were present in the programme. The programme was presided over by Sabhadhipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Supriya Das Datta. Welcome speech was delivered by DM & Collector Vishwasree B.. Different exhibition stalls were opened by different government departments and SHGs in the District-Level Sushason Mela and Lavarthi Sanmelan.
