The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has dissolved the four-member National Selection Committee headed by Chetan Sharma after India team’s uninspired performance in T20 World Cup. Apart from chief selector Chetan Sharma, other members of the selection committee were Sunil Joshi, Harvinder Singh and Debashish Mohanty.
The BCCI invited fresh applications for the position of National Selectors for the senior men’s team and deadline to submit the applications is 28th November. A release by cricket’s apex governing body in the country mentioned the criteria for those who wish to apply for the positions.

Sports Ministry has approved wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s proposal to train in Belmeken, Bulgaria under Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS). This will cover Vinesh and her physio’s flight, accommodation, local travel, and food costs among others. TOPS will also provide her an out-of-pocket allowance of 50 dollar per day for any other expense.
Meanwhile, TOPS is also set to financially assist Tokyo Olympic Bronze Medallist Bajrang Punia in taking part in the Bill Farrell International Wrestling Championship. It will be held in New York, USA from 18 to 19th of November. The competition will give Bajrang a chance to compete against some of the prominent and upcoming wrestlers in the USA.

FIFA has prohibited the sale of alcohol inside or around the perimeter of stadiums in Qatar after last-minute showdown talks, just two days before the tournament. FIFA said that the decision was made following discussions with the host country authorities. However, they mentioned that an alcohol-free beverage would remain available at all Qatar’s World Cup stadiums. The World Cup was awarded to Qatar back in 2010. It is scheduled to take place from 20th November to 18th December .
