IMD predicts heavy rain in Rajasthan, MP; thunderstorms likely across several states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over East Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh today. Parts of Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand are also expected to experience heavy rainfall throughout the day. The Weather Department further predicted thunderstorms and lightning over Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and the north-eastern states during the 2 days. IMD said that strong surface winds are very likely to hover till tomorrow over Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, and Telangana. The Met department further added that hot and humid weather is expected to prevail today over parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
