In Punjab, a major terror plot orchestrated by Pakistan based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative to disturb peace in the State has been foiled by the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab Police, today.
Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav, in a social media post, has disclosed that in an intelligence-led operation, the police have traced and recovered a large cache of terrorist hardware. This includes two AK-47 rifles with 16 live cartridges, two magazines, and two P-86 hand grenades from a forest area in Gurdaspur. He said that the preliminary investigation reveals that BKI operative Harwinder Rinda, who has the backing of Pakistan’s ISI, pushed this consignment into India in coordination with Pakistan-based agencies as part of a premeditated plan to carry out attacks at multiple locations in the state. The consignment was recovered before it reached the hands of Rinda’s associates. An FIR has been registered, and further investigations are underway.
