Punjab Police, in two different cases, has busted an international narco-arms module and an inter-state narco-hawala syndicate and has arrested 9 persons. Five sophisticated pistols with Rs. 9.7 lakh drug money and over a kilogram of Heroin have been seized from them in Amritsar.
Police sources revealed today that in the first case, 3 accused, including two recently returned from Malaysia, have been arrested with 5 sophisticated pistols and Heroin. They were acting on the directions from handlers sitting in Pakistan and Malaysia to deliver weapons across Punjab.
Whereas, in the other case, 6 accused have been arrested in a narco-hawala network linked to Delhi, Karnataka and Dubai. This operation has led to the recovery of Rs. 9.7 lakh drug money and Heroin. The syndicate was routing proceeds to Dubai through hawala channels. Further investigations are underway.
