The 15th Hockey India Sub-Junior National Women Championship 2025 was inaugurated today by Jharkhand Sports Minister Sudivya Kumar at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi. The inaugural match between Hockey Karnataka and Kerala Hockey team is underway, where Karnataka is leading 2-0 from Kerala after 30 minutes of the match. Three matches of Pool C were held this morning today where the Hockey Himachal Pradesh team defeated Hockey Rajasthan by 7-0. In the second pool match, Hockey Assam won the match by 7-1 against the Hockey Goa team, while the third pool match between Hockey Telangana and the Hockey Jammu & Kashmir team remained a draw with 2 goals each.
A total of 28 teams are taking part, split into three divisions, A, B, and C. The tournament will run until July 14 and introduces a new division-based format. Matches have been scheduled in round-robin division format in their respective pools. The top two teams from each pool in Division A will move on to the quarterfinals on July 11, followed by semifinals on July 12, and the final and third-place match on July 14.
