As the release of the much-anticipated crime thriller Kuberaa draws near, popular actor Vijay Deverakonda took to social media to send heartfelt wishes to the film’s team—most notably to his rumoured girlfriend, Rashmika Mandanna. The film, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, is set to hit theatres on June 20.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Vijay Deverakonda wrote, “Wishing #Kuberaa all the very best as it heads to the big screen.” In the same post, he paid tribute to director Sekhar Kammula, calling him a special part of his acting journey. “@sekharkammula sir will always be a special name in my journey — he gave many actors like me hope,” he penned emotionally.
For those unaware, Vijay and Sekhar worked together more than a decade ago in the 2012 coming-of-age film Life Is Beautiful, which helped establish Vijay as a promising talent in the Telugu film industry.
Vijay’s message didn’t stop at just good wishes. The story revolves around a government officer named Deepak, played by veteran actor Nagarjuna, who joins hands with a mysterious beggar Deva, portrayed by Dhanush. Their goal is to dismantle the corrupt empire of a powerful business tycoon, played by Jim Sarbh. However, the narrative takes a shocking twist when Deva suddenly vanishes, leaving behind hundreds of crores, throwing their plan into chaos.
Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa is produced by Puskur Rammohan Rao under the Amigos Creations banner. Apart from the leads, the film features an impressive supporting cast, including Dalip Tahil, Sayaji Shinde, Divya Dekate, Koushik Mahata, Saurav Khurana, Col Ravi Sharma, and Hareesh Peradi.
