 Tribal Welfare Minister  Rampada Jamatia  has said that the state government has embarked upon an ambitious plan for development of the indigenous people of the state with a Rs 1300 crore project. The World Bank will extend the financial support to the project.

Implemented in as many as 23 tribal dominated Blocks specially 12 aspirational Blocks the project will cover several aspects of  the livelihood of the indigenous people of the state and will also aim at improving the quality of life and development of connectivity. The Tribal Welfare Minister has said, the project will be launched for five years.

In the press conference Jamatia also has sought to touch upon the schemes and projects undertaken during the BHP rule for soci-economic development of the Indigenous people with a special mention the Chief Minister’s Rubber Mission.

While referring to the state government’s initiative for the tribal area development, education in particular, the minister has pointed out that it was for the relentless efforts of the  state government that 16 Eklavya Model Residential Schools which are being set up in the state.

He also has dwelt on the Supplementary Education for Elementary Classes (SEEC)-2022 scheme under which a total of 300 coaching centres will be opened across the state to improve education for indigenous students through modern education system.

Puneet Agarwal , Principal Secretary of Tribal Welfare Department has spoken about various projects implemented by the department for tribal welfare. Director of Tribal Welfare Department Bishal Kumar was also present in the press meet.
