IMD Warns of Continued Heat & Southern Rainfall –

An extreme heat wave has swept across most parts of Northern India, with temperatures rising above normal. Bathinda in Punjab recorded a scorching 47.6 degrees Celsius yesterday, while Ganganagar in Rajasthan saw temperatures soar to 47.4 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that heat wave conditions will continue in Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh for the next three days. The IMD also predicted warm night conditions at isolated places over Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan today.The weather agency further said that heavy rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam during the next two days.
