Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that India’s energy sector has undergone a structural transformation in the last 11 years, with a strong push for affordable and clean energy. Sharing an article penned by Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for a news daily, Mr Modi said that this push has introduced reforms, green initiatives, and a focus on self-reliance.
In his article, Mr Puri said that in the relentless pursuit of self-reliance or Aatmanirbharta, India has not only become the world’s fastest-growing major economy but a strategic force as well. He noted that the energy sector is integral to the nation’s rise, having undergone a structural transformation during the first year of Modi 3.0, which is built on 10 years of foundational change. The Minister added that India’s energy strategy revolves around successfully navigating the trilemma of energy availability, affordability and sustainability, which it is successfully achieving even as the world deals with one geopolitical crisis after another. He said that India’s energy sector is now marked by confidence, atmanirbharta and strategic foresight under the Prime Minister’s visionary, firm and decisive leadership.
