Opposition CPM is gearing up to go whole hog in launching agitation and consolidation of the support base that showed steady erosion for the last two years.
CPM state secretary said the agitation events would be launched from next month itself. Das said, “The Central Committee of the Party has chalked out protests and agitation programmes on multiple issues across the country. As part of the country-wide programme, similar programmes will be held in Tripura”
Addressing a press meet in Agartala on Friday, Das also said that the agitation programmes would be held adhering to Covid19 protocol. Party’s State Secretariat member Naresh Jamatia was also present in the press meet.
He said, the state government must pay adequate compensation to people who died in Corona. Das also demanded that man-days under REGA be increased to 200 days and a hike in REGA wages.
Gautam Das said, “Purchasing power of people is diminishing due to unabated rise in prices of Diesel and petrol. Skyrocketing prices of the essential commodities have added financial burden. Such a situation must be brought under control”.
Speaking to the media, Naresh Jamatia expressed deep concern over ‘increasing’ activities of insurgents. He said, Tripura emerged as the most peaceful State in the Northeast Region, but lamented, Tripura is, once again, becoming hostile.
“During the Left Front regime, the State Government brought the misled youths back to the mainstream of the society through holistic development in ADC areas”, Jamatia told media and added, there is dearth of earning opportunities in ADC areas as well as in the whole State. He also criticized the Government’s decision to depute TSR jawans to other States.
