Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb requested Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to expedite operation of the Kailasahar airport. While meeting Scindia in New Delhi Deb on Friday pointed out that with the Kailasahar airport going operational it would immensely help the people of the northern part of the state and would act as a harbinger of development of the region.
Scindia heard the former Chief Minister patiently and assured him of taking action as required.
Later, Deb in his social media handle wrote : “Had a courtesy meeting with Minister of Civil Aviation & Steel GoI, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia Ji at New Delhi. He is very passionate about the development of North East and inspire us to work hard. We discussed about the speedy completion of Kailasahar Airport,”.
Scindia also in a tweet said, during the meeting with the former CM he held fruitful discussions regarding various development matters including the aviation sector of Tripura.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan visits Matabari, Sepahijala
The visiting Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Tripura Sundari temple in on Friday. He was accompanied by his wife. The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister who was on a private visit to the state also planted a Champa tree sapling in the temple premise. Tripura Tourism minister Pranajit Singha Roy was with him during the visit.
The MP Chief Minister also visited Sepahijala zoo and appreciated the Tripura Forest department’s initiatives in protecting forests and wildlife.
Chouhan was unlikely to meet Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha as he was in solattion due to covid infection. Taking to social media, Chouhan wrote, “Today, in Tripura, I was lucky to plant Champa saplings along with my family in the premises of holy Tripura Sundari temple. This is the only prayer to Mother that there should be happiness, prosperity and happiness in every home along with greenery in India.”
