Delhi Metro today completed a tunnel breakthrough for its Golden Metro Line at Vasant Kunj. The 26-kilometer metro line will run under the Aerocity-Tughlakabad Corridor and is being built by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation as part of its Phase 4 expansion. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu graced the occasion.
Talking to the media after the breakthrough ceremony, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal said that India’s metro network is the third-largest in the world, and it will surpass the USA’s New York metro network in December this year. He added that the metro network in the country has crossed one thousand kilometres so far.
Highlighting the Golden Metro Line, the Minister said that the people of Delhi-NCR will benefit after the completion of this line. Lauding the efforts of officers and workers associated with the project, the Minister thanked them.
