In the second semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy, New Zealand entered the final defeating South Africa by 50 runs at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Chasing the highest-ever target in the tournament’s history of 362 runs set by New Zealand, South Africa made 312 runs for the loss of Nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
New Zealand will face India in the final on Sunday. India stormed into the final, beating Australia by four wickets in Dubai last evening.
Earlier, opting to bat first, New Zealand piled up 362 runs for six wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson struck centuries. Ravindra scored 108 off 101 balls, while Williamson made 102 off 94. For South Africa, Lungi Ngidi took three wickets, while Kagiso Rabada claimed two, and Wiaan Mulder picked up one. The winner of this high-stakes encounter.
