The budget session of Gujarat Assembly began in Gandhinagar on Wednesday with the address of Governor Acharya Devvrat. Addressing the house on the first day, Governor Devvrat reiterated his government’s commitment to the development of the State by focusing on the upliftment of poor, youth, farmers and women.
The Governor also highlighted several initiatives taken by the state government in different sectors including infrastructure, employment, tribal development and agriculture. He appreciated the remarkable progress of the State in renewable energy and emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and semiconductor. Mr Devvrat emphasized on the vision of developed Gujarat in order to achieve the dream of Developed India by 2047.
Our correspondent reports that on the first day of the Assembly, obituary references were made to the sitting members and prominent political leaders who passed away recently including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The state budget will be presented tomorrow. The session will continue till 28th March.
