In Border-Gavaskar Trophy Cricket, Australia registered a 184 run victory over India on the fifth and final day of the fourth test in Melbourne. With this loss, India has thin chances for reaching the World Test Championship Final. India bundled out at 155 runs in their second innings while chasing a target of 340 runs. Yashashvi Jaiswal fought a lone battle, scoring 84 runs before a controversial dismissal.

Australia now leads the 5-match series 2-1. The 5th Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, a must-win match for India’s WCT Final hopes, will be played in Sydney from the 3rd of January.
