Union Home Minister Amit Shah said today Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought north east to the focal point. Addressing the 72nd plenary of North Eastern Council in Agartala, he said said that last 10 years has been very important for north east. He said, the Union Government is inspiring investors to make investments in north east. Mr. Shah said, earlier only lip service was made on north east; but Prime Minister Modi made sincere efforts to give importance to the development of the region.  He said the establishment of peace is the most important thing that has happened in the region.

The Union Home Minister underlined that it is the objective of Prime Minister Modi and BJP led government  to bring north east at par with rest of the country. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia credited the drastic drop in extremism and violence in the north east region to the stupendous role played by Home Minister Amit Shah in ushering peace and tranquility. He noted that there has been 71 per cent drop in extremist activities and 60 per cent drop to the loss of human life in the region.
