The state government has announced significant benefits for police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel, alongside recruitment drives in various departments. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury confirmed that the annual dress allowance for police personnel has been increased from ₹7,500 to ₹9,500, while their monthly ration money has doubled to ₹2,000. Similarly, TSR personnel will now receive ₹12,000 as dress allowance and ₹2,000 as ration money, marking a considerable boost.

The revised benefits for TSR personnel, initially declared before Diwali, received formal cabinet approval. Currently, the state has 21,794 police and TSR personnel.

The cabinet also cleared the recruitment of 125 physical education teachers under the School Education Department and 75 junior physical instructors in the Youth Affairs and Sports Department. Furthermore, 53 Fisheries Officers will be recruited to strengthen the Fisheries Department.

These decisions, along with enhanced allowances, reflect the government’s commitment to improving welfare and addressing vacancies in critical sectors, Minister Chowdhury emphasized.
