Kolkata/IBNS: Setting new standards for the Bengali cinema, filmmaker duo Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukherjees Bohurupi has crossed Rs. 14.5 crore in the box office.

Adding to its list of accolades, Bohurupi also became the highest-grossing Bengali film in national multiplexes, crossing Rs. 5 crore in collections outside Bengal.

With shows increased once again due to overwhelming demand, the films performance highlights a new chapter for Bengali cinema on a national scale.

Were humbled and deeply grateful for the love Bohurupi has received from audiences everywhere, shared directors Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee.

Our vision was to create a film that resonates universally, while celebrating the soul of Bengali storytelling. Seeing it embraced by people across the country has been immensely fulfilling.

Bohurupi, which was released on October 8 on the occasion of Durga Puja, features Abir Chatterjee, Koushani Mukherjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty and Shiboprosad Mukherjee in the lead.

The film is a gripping confrontation between a dacoit and a determined police officer.

While the dacoit is played by Shiboprosad, Abir features as a cop.
