Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood star Mithun Chakrabortys first wife Helena Luke, who divorced the actor four months after their marriage, passed away on November 3 in the United States, media reports said.
The news was confirmed by Helenas friend and dancer-actor Kalpana Iyer.
The cause of her death is still unknown.
In her last Facebook post on Sunday, Helena had written, Feeling weird. Mixed emotions and no clue why, discombobulated.
Helena had featured in acting legend Amitabh Bachchan starrer 1985 film Mard. She also was a part of films like Aao Pyar Karen, Yeh Nazdeekiyan.
She had moved to the United States after her short marriage ended.
In an old interview, Helena had spoken about her marriage with Mithun and regretted tying the knot with the actor.
I only wish it hadnt happened, he was the one who brainwashed me into believing that he was the man for me, unfortunately, he succeeded, she had said.
Ill never go back to him even if he is the richest guy around. I havent even asked for alimony, it was a nightmare, and its over. I really believed him when he told me that he loved me. But when I got to know him better, I realised that he loved no one but himself. He was extremely immature, and though I was years younger than him, I felt much older, Helena had said.
Mithun had married Helena in 1979. After their divorce, Mithun married actress Yogeeta Bali in the same year.
