In Manipur, the Mera Hou Chongba 2024 – an annual festival observed in order to strengthen the cordial bond between the indigenous communities living in hills and valley people, will be held tomorrow at Imphal.

The State Level Organising Committee on Mera Hou Chongba 2024 will observe the festival at Manipur Royal Palace and sacred holy site- Kangla tomorrow. For the observation, village chiefs of indigenous communities from hills districts had already arrived in Imphal this evening. The titular King of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba who is also a sitting MP (Rajya Sabha) hosted a reception ceremony for village chiefs, participants and cultural troupes at Manipur Royal Palace.

Tomorrow’s observation will start with the rituals of Men Tongba and Yenkhong Tamba at Kangla Uttra in the morning followed by Thang Ta Salutation and Invocation by Maiba. There will also be an exchange of gifts and cultural programs among the indigenous communities during the observation tomorrow.
