A youth was arrested by Tripura Police on Wednesday on the charge of posting indecent and disrespectful content against BJP leader Patal Kanya Jamatia on social media platforms.
The youth- Madan Tripura (31) is a resident of Poangbari under Manubazar police station.
The arrest was made based on Teliamura police station case no- 30/2020 under section 153A/469/471/505 of IPC and Sec 67 of IT Act.
The case was lodged following circulation of indecent, threatening and disturbing images in respect of Patal Kanya Jamatia on social media by certain individuals, according to an official release from Tripura Police Headquarters.
