Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that cities like Mumbai and Thane should be future-ready for creating Viksit Bharat. Highlighting various infrastructure projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, including Atal Setu, Mumbai Metro, and Coastal Road, the Prime Minister stated that these projects will not only ease the lives of people but also promote industry and create new employment opportunities. He was speaking after inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several significant metro and road projects in Thane this evening. Among the key inaugurations was the BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line-3, valued at approximately 14,120 crore rupees.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, set to be built at a cost of around 12,200 crore rupees, and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane, worth approximately 3,310 crore rupees. He also laid the foundation stone for Phase-1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project, valued at around 2,550 crore rupees, as well as a high-rise administrative building for the Thane Municipal Corporation, to be constructed at a cost of 700 crore rupees. These projects are expected to significantly enhance urban mobility in the region.

Earlier, The Prime Minister said that the Central government is committed to the development of nomadic tribes and communities. Mr. Modi also stated that every decision and policy of the government is dedicated to Viksit Bharat (Developed India), and farmers are a major foundation of this vision. He was speaking at an event in Washim, Maharashtra, to launch various initiatives related to the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors, worth around 23,300 crore rupees. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Banjara Virasat Museum in Poharadevi, Washim, showcasing the rich heritage of the Banjara community. This four-story museum features 13 galleries highlighting the Banjara legacy through portraits of its leaders and movement. He urged people to visit the museum to learn about the community’s culture and tradition. The Prime Minister  mentioned Maharashtra’s Sant Sevalal Maharaj Banjara Tanda Samruddhi Abhiyan, aimed at developing nomadic communities.

Mr. Modi disbursed the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, worth about 20,000 crore rupees, to around 9.4 crore farmers. simultaneously, 90 lakh farmers in Maharashtra received more than 1,900 crore rupees under the state’s Namo Shetkari Mahasamman Yojana. More than 7,500 Agriculture Infrastructure Fund projects worth 1,920 crore rupees were also dedicated, along with 9,200 Farmer Producer Organizations with a combined turnover of 1,300 crore rupees. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that Maharashtra has immense potential to lead the country’s economic progress, and this can become a reality only when the campaign for the empowerment of the poor, farmers, laborers, Dalits, and the underprivileged continues strongly.
