In the Kashmir Valley, election-related activities for the upcoming Assembly elections are gaining momentum with each passing day. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today addressed a public rally of the India Alliance at Dooru Sports Stadium in Anantnag to extend support to Congress Alliance candidate G.A. Mir, who is contesting from the Dooru Shahbad Assembly constituency in the district.
During his speech, Mr. Gandhi said the India Alliance represents the true aspirations of the people. National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah also addressed the gathering. Earlier, Mr. Gandhi addressed a rally in Sangaldan, Ramban constituency, to support his party candidate Vaqar Rasool Wani. Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and President of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti, also addressed party workers at Sarnal in Anantnag district and began formally campaigning for the candidates.
