The state cabinet has approved the release of the final results for 2,500 Group D posts, which will be published by the Joint Recruitment Board (JRBT) on September 7th or 8th, 2024. Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced this decision at a press conference held today at the Secretariat.

While providing details about the various decisions taken at the cabinet meeting yesterday, including recruitment in different departments and creation of new posts, Minister Chowdhury informed that the cabinet has decided to fill 916 vacant posts of constables (male and female) under the Home Department. In this context, he mentioned that examinations for 1,000 constable posts have already been conducted, and the recruitment process for these posts will be completed soon. Subsequently, the recruitment process for the new 916 constable posts will begin.

He further stated that the cabinet has decided to create and fill 51 posts of various categories under the Tourism Department. These posts include engineer, computer assistant, Group C, Group D, etc. Additionally, the cabinet has decided to recruit 8 Senior Informatic Officers (Group A) and one Lower Division Clerk under the Information and Technology Department. The recruitment process for Senior Informatic Officers will be conducted through TPSC, and the recruitment for Lower Division Clerks (LDCs) will be conducted through JRBT, the Food Minister informed.

The cabinet has also decided to increase the salaries of Special Police Officers (SPOs). With this increase, they will now receive a monthly salary of Rs. 12,000. This decision will benefit 3,776 SPOs in the state. He further informed that the cabinet has decided to increase the wages of pump operators working in 19 municipalities and 1 corporation in the state. As a result, pump operators associated with the Iron Removal Plant (IRP) will now receive a minimum monthly wage of Rs. 7,500, and non-pump operators associated with IRP will receive a minimum monthly wage of Rs. 7,000.

In summary, the key decisions taken in the cabinet meeting include:

Release of final results for 2,500 Group D posts filling of 916 vacant constable posts creation and filling of 51 posts in the Tourism Department Recruitment of 8 Senior Informatic Officers and 1 Lower Division Clerk in the IT Department salary hike for Special Police Officers increase in wages for pump operators in municipalities and corporations
