The West Bengal government has sought a report from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on the mid-air turbulence that was encountered by a chartered plane carrying Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while she was returning to Kolkata from Varanasi, reports said,
However, the DGCA has said that no such incident has come to its notice.
According to reports, Banerjee hurt her back during the turbulence that was experienced by her flight mid-air on Friday.
She has been advised to rest by doctors, said reports.
The flight, Dassault Falcon 2000 plane, carrying Mamata Banerjee has been hired by the state government.
The plane on the Varanasi-Kolkata route underwent a higher than usual descent, around 40 minutes into the flight, said reports.
Banerjee visited Varanasi to campaign for Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party in the ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly election.
