Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a visit to the landslide ravaged areas of Wayanad, reached Chooralmala, one of the areas badly hit by the massive landslide on the 30th of last month. The Army had built a 190 ft Bailey Bridge at Chooralmala across river Iruvanipuzha, which facilitated the faster movement of heavy earth moving equipment and army personnel to the landslide-hit areas. The Prime Minister interacted with the army personnel and those involved in the rescue and relief works.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Tourism Suresh Gopi among others. From Chooralmala, he will proceed to the MIMS Hospital and a relief camp at the St Joseph School at Meppady and interact with the survivors.
