West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday addressed her Martyrs Day rally in Kolkata when she targeted the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government, which returned to power for the third straight term after winning the Lok Sabha polls, and said it will fall soon.

Sharing the stage with Samajwadi Partys strongman and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee said: BJP should have resigned by now but they do not have any shame. I agree with him on the fact that the NDA government in Delhi, which has come to power using the central agencies and the Election Commission, is not stable and will collapse any day.

Smt. @MamataOfficial congratulated Shri @yadavakhilesh and @samajwadiparty for their outstanding performance in the Lok Sabha elections and their clear goal to oust @BJP4India.

Addressing the rally, Yadav also voiced a similar opinion about the Centre when he said: This government is not going to stay in power for many days. It will collapse.

Akhilesh Yadav and his Samajwadi Party made a strong comeback in the Lok Sabha polls whose election was declared on June 4 by winning 37 seats.

The politically crucial UP sends 80 MPs to the Lower House of the Indian Parliament.

Together with Congress, the UP-based political outfit won 43 Lok Sabha seats in total.

Congratulating Yadav on his partys performance in the general polls, Mamata Banerjee said: I would also like to thank Akhilesh Yadav, who promptly accepted our invitation to the Shahid Dibas event during our conversation in Mumbai. I will also congratulate Akhilesh ji and Samajwadi party for their performance in Uttar Pradesh.

Using the platform to send out a strong message to her own party workers, Banerjee asked them to maintain transparency.

I dont want rich but I want morally strong people, she said as her party gears up to battle the state assembly polls in 2026.

We need to remember that the more we win, the more polite and humble we must be and the more responsibilities we must shoulder. The more we must work for the people. AITC soldiers are not just political party workers but are a part of the platform to serve the people, she said in her direct message to party workers.

I want to tell all MPs, MLAs, municipality post-holders, and panchayat leaders that the party should not receive any complaints against anyone. If the party receives any complaints, the party shall take necessary action, Banerjee, who came to power for a third straight term after winning the 2021 elections, said.

She made the comments at a time when several videos went viral on social media where some mid-level party leaders were seen hosting kangaroo courts in some parts of the state.

A victory in 2026 will ensure Banerjee coming to power in the state for the fourth straight term.

Removing the 34-year-old Left Front rule, Banerjee came to power in the state in 2011 after registering a landslide victory in the assembly polls.

Despite the fear of central agencies, arrests of party leaders, and ECIs bias, we fought and secured victory against BJP, Congress, and CPI(M). I salute the people of Bengal for their support towards us. In the coming days, I hope we win the support of the people who may not have trusted us this time, she said.
