Main accused of the sensational Vicky murder case Raju Barman has ultimately been arrested . He was arrested in Guwahati this morning.
Durga Prasanna Deb alias Vicky who happened to be the secretary of Bharat Ratna Sangha was murdered on April 30 night at Shalbagan . He was shot dead I by the assailants . The murder created huge sensation and several arrests were made by the police.
But the prime accused Raju remained absconding as the police raided various places in Tripura, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
Police also arrested Raju Barman’s younger brother and also former president of the club Pradyot Dhar Chowdhury, a college student girl Susmita Deb, Sunny , Sunnu Saha et al.
Several electronic gadgets like CCTV footage, computers etc also were also seized by the police during the months long investigation. The pistol used by the assailants was also found.
But Raju Barman kept on giving the police a slip and stayed elusive till this morning.
Police officials said, after arrest of Raju Barman in Guwahati preparations are being made to bring him in the state, for that a transit remand would be sought in the Guwahati court.
With the arrest of the Raju Barman police has virtually completed all the arrests and with his interrogation the entire picture of the Vicky murder –which is believed to have been a result of negotiation fall out, would be solved. Both the murdered Vicky and arrested accused were believed to have been involved in illegal negotiations business relating to the development activities that were taking part in Natungaar and Air port areas.
