In Tripura, two new Members of Parliament (MPs) will be elected from the West Tripura and East Tripura parliamentary constituencies. Additionally, the Ramnagar assembly segment will elect a new Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). The state election authorities have made extensive preparations to ensure a smooth and efficient counting process.

During a press conference held on Saturday, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Tripura, Puneet Agarwal, announced that the Lok Sabha votes would be counted at 20 locations across the state, beginning at 8 AM on June 4.

Specifically, the votes for the West Tripura Parliamentary Constituency (PC) will be counted in 7 locations, while the East Tripura PC votes will be counted in 13 locations. Across these two constituencies, there will be a total of 60 counting halls.

Agarwal highlighted that each counting centre would be equipped with a media centre, where journalists are permitted to carry their mobile phones. Comprehensive CCTV coverage will be in place at all counting halls, strong rooms, and surrounding corridors to ensure transparency and security. No cameras, except for the official ones, will be permitted inside the counting halls.

Agarwal stated that all counting centres would have a robust three-tier security arrangement. Additionally, 31 counting observers have been appointed in Tripura by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to oversee the process. The election results will be updated in real-time on the official ECI website and the voter helpline app

Agarwal called for public cooperation to ensure the peaceful conduct of the counting process. He was accompanied by Additional CEOs Usha Jen Mog and Subhashis Bandopadhyay during the press conference.
