The Amtali Police Station, in collaboration with the BSF 42nd Battalion, successfully conducted an anti-narcotics operation based on confidential information.
Under the leadership of OC Ranjit Debnath, the joint team recovered a substantial quantity of illicit drugs in the vicinity of Motinagar School. Notorious drug dealer Sundar Ali was arrested during the operation.
West District Superintendent of Police Dr. Kiarn Kumar briefed the media, stating, “The seized contraband includes 59,200 Yaba tablets and 50 bottles of Phensedyl. Additionally, Rs 23,550 in Bangladeshi currency was also confiscated. Most notably, a sophisticated pistol, eight rounds of fresh bullets, and two pistol magazines were also recovered from Sundar Ali.”
The recovered drug paraphernalia, along with the arrested suspect, is currently being transferred from the custody of the Border Security Force (BSF) to the Amtali police station.
The operation, jointly executed by the Raermura BOP of BSF No. 42 Battalion and officers from Amtali Police Station, took place earlier on Thursday.
