The Tripura Chemists & Druggists Association (TCDA) on Thursday saw outgoing committee members staging a protest against the newly formed committee, accusing them of failing to provide financial accounts. The altercation unfolded at the TCDA’s new office near Durga Bari in Agartala, resulting in a heated exchange between the opposing factions.
The former committee’s general secretary asserted that the formation of the new committee occurred without their knowledge or consent, alleging a lack of transparency regarding financial matters. He contended that funds belonging to the association had been misused by the new committee.
In response, representatives of the new TCDA committee refuted the allegations, labeling them as unfounded and politically driven. They defended their legitimacy, asserting compliance with the association’s constitution and a commitment to transparency.
The disturbance attracted the attention of the West Tripura Police, prompting their intervention to maintain order and prevent further escalation. Police officials advised both groups to seek resolution through dialogue and refrain from causing any additional disruptions.
