Mumbai/IBNS: A day after firing incident outside Salman Khans house, his brother Arbaaz Khan dismissed claims that the same was a publicity stunt.

Gunshots were heard outside the Bollywood actors Mumbai home on Sunday early morning.

According to reports, two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired five rounds in the air outside Khans Bandra home at 5 AM before fleeing from the scene.

However, soon after several media reports claimed that the firing was indeed a publicity stunt.

Putting out a clarification, Salman Khans brother Arbaaz Khan on Monday released a statement on their familys behalf.

He said that claims about the incident being a publicity stunt are not true and one should not take such views seriously.

The recent incident of firing by two unidentified persons on a motorcycle at Galaxy Apartment, the residence of the Salim Khan family is very disturbing and unnerving. Our family has been taken aback by this shocking incident that took place.

Unfortunately some people claiming to be close to our family and pretending to be the spokesperson have been making loose statements to the media saying its all a publicity stunt and the family remains unaffected which is not true and these views should not be taken seriously, Arbaaz said.

The two individuals suspected of carrying out the shooting are believed to have ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The police have seized DVRs from all CCTV cameras outside Khans residence which caught the accused on their bike.

They said a total of four bullets were fired, with one live round recovered, likely dropped during the weapons locking mechanism.

A bullet also hit the first floor of the building where Khan resides, police said.

The Mumbai Police has launched a probe into the incident and is trying to track down the miscreants who fired the shots.
