Returning Officer for 1-Tripura West Parliamentary Constituency, Dr. Vishal Kumar in a statement said the concerned teams are quickly responding to all the complaints raised by the citizens and the political parties.
According to a press note, a total of 64 complaints were received till April 14 and these were addressed in the most stringent manner.
According to the RO, the District Administration and the Police are constantly surveying the situation and ensuring strict maintenance of law and order.
He said, proactive actions are being taken to ensure zero violations of MCC and law and order. Strict surveillance is maintained through Static Surveillance Teams and Flying Squad Teams to ensure zero violation of rules.
With relation to a complaint lodged earlier for taking part in a political campaign, Pradip Kumar Ghosh, a Pharmacist of IGM hospital, has been placed under suspension by the parent department after due enquiry, the press note said.
A proposal has been sent to the concerned department for suspension of two polling officials in regards to a separate complaint pertaining to home voting of absentee voters on 10/4/2024 at Sector 6 under 6- Agartala Assembly constituency. The proposal has been sent following non-satisfactory explanation against show-cause notice.
An enquiry was conducted based on a media report regarding setting up of temporary booth office for election campaign on private land under 4-Barjala assembly constituency.
After enquiry, it was found that prior permission of the private landowner was taken for setting up the temporary booth office.
On the other hand, 26 complaints received through cVIGIL citizens App have been disposed swiftly.
One complaint was received on April 14 related to posters and banners without permission in 8- Town Bordowali. Prompt response was made by the Flying Squad Team (FST).
Meanwhile, 24*7 surveillance is there on all the Naka points. Regular flag marches are being held to ensure law and order. All the officers are proactively assessing the situation and taking preventive actions to handle any mischievous elements. Strict vigilance is over all the areas of the constituency and stringent action is being taken in case of any complaint.
