In Jammu and Kashmir, the annual pilgrimage to the 3880 metre-high holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji in south Kashmir Himalayas will commence from June 29 and conclude on August 19. Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has announced that the registration process for the 52 day long yatra will be opened today.

The annual yatra takes place from the twin tracks, the traditional 48 km Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the 14 km shorter but steep Baltal route in Ganderbal district. The Amarnath Yatra, an annual Hidu pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave located at lidder valley in district Anantnag surrounded by glaciers and snowy mountains and remains covered by snow throughout the year.

Amarnath Yatra is one of the most toughest and challenging journey for the devotees. This pilgrimage is believed to be abode of Lord Shiva. Every year thousands of devotees visits the Amarnath cave to seek the blessings from the divine. The annual pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath temple takes place in the month of Shravan and starts from Pahalgam and Baltal on specific dates.

The Shri Amarnath-ji Yatra of 2024 will start on its scheduled date and the devotees can fill the Amarnath yatra registration form and Amarnath yatra 2024 medical form online at Amarnath Yatra official website.
