The Election Commission of India has notified the second phase of General Election, 2024 today. Accordingly, 13 States along with West Bengal will go to poll on April 26, 2024 in the second phase. Total 118 Constituencies over these 12 States will be experiencing the second phase of poll. In West Bengal, Darjeeling, Raiganj and Balurghat will be undergoing polls on the mentioned date. The rest of the States include Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir

The Election Commission has also notified the last date of making nominations as well as the last date of withdrawal of the candidatures for these 12 States. According to the notification, the last date for making nominations is April 4, 2024. April 6, 2024 is the date for scrutiny of nominations of Jammu & Kashmir and April 5, 2024 is for the rest of the States. April 8, 2024 is the last date for withdrawal of the candidatures for all the 12 States including West Bengal.

Darjeeling seat includes Assembly Constituencies like Darjeeling, Kurseong, Matigara-Naxalbari, Siliguri & Phansidewa. Raiganj includes Assembly Segments like Islampur, Goalpokhar, Chakulia, Karandighi, Hemtabad (SC), Kaliaganj (SC) and Raiganj.

Balurghat seat includes Kushmandi, Kumarganj, Balurghat, Tapan (ST), Gangarampur (SC) and Harirampur.
