Shahjahan Sheikh, accused in the attack on an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team, was placed in an eight-day CBI custody by the Basirhat Sub-Divisional Court today. Earlier in the day, he was produced before the court by CBI as his 4-day CBI custody ended today. Besides, Sheikh Sahajahan seven more arrested persons in the case were also produced before the Court. The Court has placed them under five-day CBI custody.
Sheikh Sahajahan was arrested by CBI on charges of attack on the ED team at Sandeshkhali on the 5th of January this year.
An Enforcement Directorate (ED) team visited Sandeshkhali today to investigate the import and export business of Sheikh Shahjahan. The team searched three houses of associates of Sheikh Shahjahan. The search continued for around seven hours. They have recovered many related documents from the places.
ED team also visited the house of Moslem Sheikh at Sarberia of Sandeshkhali. The team confiscated three cars from his godown.
