The Ministry of Coal has issued three draft Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to solicit feedback from interested Government Public Sector Undertakings and Private Investors for the establishment of coal gasification plants in India. The Ministry said that the move comes in the wake of the Cabinet’s approval of a financial assistance scheme, allocating 85 hundred crore rupees for incentives towards coal gasification projects, categorised into three categories.
The Ministry has issued Draft RFPs separately for each of the three categories. Category one allocates four thousand fifty crore rupees to Government PSUs to support up to three projects. In Category Two, three thousand eight fifty crore rupees are earmarked for both the Private Sector and Government PSUs. Additionally, at least one project in this category will undergo a tariff-based bidding process. Category three includes six hundred crore rupees for Demonstration Projects and small-scale Gasification Plants.
The feedback can be provided by stakeholders until the 20th of this month through email at [email protected]
