A call for decisive action against those implicated in the floodlight corruption scandal within the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) reverberated on Thursday. Representatives from 13 TCA-affiliated clubs and 14 sub-divisional bodies convened a joint press conference to demand accountability and justice.
Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Sebak Bhattacharjee emphasized the imminent victory of an unnamed panel in the upcoming TCA elections slated for February 15.
Bhattacharjee underscored the significance of the truth prevailing, referencing the recent Suo-motto complaint filed against former TCA officials regarding alleged irregularities in flood light installation at the stadium.
The attendees of the press conference voiced their demand for appropriate measures to be taken against those involved in the corruption scandal. They expressed gratitude to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), state government, and media for their role in addressing the issue.
The press conference served as a platform for stakeholders to assert their commitment to transparency and integrity within the TCA, signalling a collective resolve to uphold the sanctity of sports governance in Tripura.
