Dr. Surjit Das, a 32-year-old doctor at Teliamura sub-district hospital, passed away unexpectedly on Monday night due to a heart attack. The young physician, who resided in a rented house in Teliamura and hailed from Melaghar, left a profound impact on the medical fraternity and those who knew him.

Facing difficulties in the evening, Dr. Das contacted the on-duty doctor at the hospital, who advised him to seek immediate medical attention. Following the advice, he admitted himself to the hospital. However, his condition was deemed critical, and the on-duty doctor referred him to IGM Hospital.

Tragically, during the transfer from IGM Hospital to GB Hospital, Dr. Das suffered a fatal heart attack and passed away in the night. The unexpected demise of the young doctor sent shockwaves through the community.

Hospital sources shared that Dr. Das commenced his career at Teliamura Hospital in 2017 and quickly earned the admiration of the local residents. Known for his compassionate approach, he often went above and beyond his duty, personally purchasing medicine for financially challenged patients.

At the time of his untimely death, Dr. Das is survived by his parents, two brothers, and numerous relatives and friends. The medical community mourns the loss of a dedicated and caring professional, remembering him for his contributions to healthcare and his compassionate service to the community.
