New Delhi: Six people have been arrested for the Parliament security breach on December 13, which coincided with the anniversary of the 2001 attacks.
All the arrested accused have been remanded to police custody for seven days.
On Sunday, the police retrieved charred parts of mobile phones, clothes, and footwear belonging to the accused involved in the Parliament security breach.
According to the police, Lalit Jha, the mastermind, had possession of all the accuseds phones. He first dismantled the phones before setting them ablaze.
The alleged mastermind behind the Parliament security breach, Lalit Mohan Jha, arrested on Thursday, had travelled to Kuchaman in Rajasthan after the incident.
During police interrogation, it was learned that Lalit met Mahesh Kumawat in Rajasthan, who arranged a room for Lalit to stay overnight.
Allegedly, Jha destroyed of all evidence before voluntarily surrendering at the Kartavya Path Police station.
Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, the two men involved, leaped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour.
They released yellow smoke from canisters, chanted slogans, and were subsequently subdued by Members of Parliament.
On Saturday, the Delhi Police arrested, Mahesh Kumawat, after ascertaining that he was part of the conspiracy.
He was remanded to seven days custody for further interrogation.
The accused told the police that they initially explored the idea of self-immolation by applying fire-resistant gel on their bodies to create more drama and draw media attention, a media report said.
However, they later dropped the idea and opted for a plan to jump into the Lok Sabha chamber with smoke canisters, according to their statements.
Initially, they also contemplated distributing pamphlets inside the Parliament premises, but ultimately, they proceeded with the executed plan on Wednesday, an official said, according to the report.
