Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday said that without Yoga, a person can’t be complete, as Yoga helps unite the body, mind, and soul.

Dr. Saha said this during the opening ceremony of the 67th National School Games 2023 (Yoga Boys & Girls U-17 Years), organized by the Department of Youth and Sports Affairs at NSRCC in Agartala.

“We are delighted that the 67th National School Games are being held in Tripura, and our Youth and Sports Department is hosting the event. We all know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when he appealed to the general assembly for the universal practice of Yoga, led to the United Nations proclaiming June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. Since then, the entire world has embraced Yoga. Without Yoga, a person can’t be complete. We have a body, mind, and soul, and Yoga unites them all,” said Dr. Saha.

He emphasized that a person can recognize oneself through the practice of Yoga.

“You have to recognize yourself. Until and unless you recognize yourself, you can’t give your best to society and the needy person. Almost all countries have now recognized the importance of Yoga, and credit goes to PM Modi,” he added.

Dr. Saha expressed his pleasure at attending the program, marking the celebration of the ancient practice of Yoga.

“A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. I was also the Secretary of the Sports Council. I am very glad that young boys and girls from different parts of the country have come here to participate in this event, and I am sure that they will showcase their talent,” he concluded.

During the event, Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Secretary of Tripura Sports Council Sukanta Ghosh, Secretary of the Youth and Sports Affairs Department Dr. PK Chakraborty and Olympiad and Dronacharya Award winner Dipa Karmakar were also present.
