The Tripura Journalists Union (TJU) will celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8 at Agartala Press Club, honoring 60 women journalists with the prestigious ‘Ananya Sangbad Yodhya Sanmanana 2025.’

Announcing the event, TJU members Chandrima Sircar, Indrani, and Seshadri Dasgupta stated that this is the first time such a large-scale felicitation of women journalists is being held in Tripura.

State Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury will inaugurate the program, with dignitaries including Agartala Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, Additional SP (Traffic) Sudambika R, and others in attendance. Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu has also been invited to grace the occasion.

Additionally, journalist Reshmi Debnath will receive the ‘Saktirupa Award’ for her remarkable contributions to the media industry.
