In Chhattisgarh, 23 Maoists have surrendered in Dantewada district today. These Maoists, influenced by the Lon Varatu campaign being run by Dantewada Police, surrendered before Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai. All these Maoists are said to be members of Bhairamgarh Area Committee. They are accused of working as associates of Naxalites.
So far, 761 Maoists have surrendered under the Lon Varatu campaign of Dantewada Police. Of these, reward was declared on 177 Maoists.
